Buying this is certain to cause confusion. Most copies of these are the remixed version with additional guitar and vocals from John Du Cann, but that's not the original. Yes, it's still B&C label and same catalog number, and the back cover is exactly the same on both versions, but the true original has a larger B&C logo on the label and the label is textured (that's funny, I swore this version had some of the songs switched around, I believe I did see a version on eBay with some of the songs swiped, like their cover of John Mayall's "Broken Wings" being on side two rather than side one). Even the remixed version will mention Vincent Crane, Nick Graham, and Carl Palmer, but no mention of newly added-on guitar and vocals from John Du Cann. You'll also know whether you have the original or not, is if Nick Graham is doing almost all the vocals, without any vocals from Du Cann (I suspect it was Vicent Crane doing the vocals to "Winter"), and there is almost no guitar. The remixed version was intended for U.S. release, but no U.S. record company showed interest in it (apparently not even Elektra). The remixed version instead was the one imported to the States (to the few record stores in the States at the time who were stocking imports in 1970, as I doubt too many American record stores were stocking imports much earlier than 1969). Actually I can understand why the album was remixed. The remixed version has more power and energy, additional guitar really helped big time, and just about anyone who heard both versions can agree, the remixed one is superior. For newbies, you're most likely have heard only the remixed, as that's most likely the version used for the various CD reissues.
